How often should I take IMODIUM™? Take 2 capsules of IMODIUM™ initially. After that, you only need to take 1 capsule of IMODIUM™ after every subsequent loose stool. This makes IMODIUM™ very convenient because you don’t have to take it several times a day as you would with anti-diarrheal drugs.

The maximum daily dose is 8 capsules in acute and chronic diarrhea.

Precautions:

Imodium should only be given to adults and children 12 years old and above.

It should be used with caution in patient with hepatic dysfunction and in patients with dysentery or if constipation must be avoided.
